Drool over hundreds of deftly detailed quilts by the stitchers of the Brooklyn Quilters Guild at a special show this spring.
The guild is hosting Brooklyn Quilts!, its biennial show, with over 200 quilts on display. Styles from modern to traditional will be on view, all stitched by guild members. The event is timed to coincide with National Quilting Day on March 21, with events across the country planned to celebrate the rich history and craft of quiltmaking.
If the work inspires you to do some quilting of your own there will be vendors on hand with fabric and notions available. Planned vendors include Brooklyn General Store, Brooklyn Haberdashery, LDH Scissors and Yara African Fabrics. There will also be children’s activities, quilt tours, demonstrations, raffles and a silent auction.
The show is open on Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m at Industry City, Building #1. Daily admission is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children 12 and under are free. For more information, including a full list of vendors, and to purchase tickets visit the event page online.
