This weekend check out the Flea at Skylight One Hanson before it makes the big move outdoors to our old familiar in Fort Greene and our new location in Williamsburg. On Saturday, Ben Marcus will be selling caneles, a French treat, in the downstairs food area. Also keep your eyes peeled for this weekend’s Scavenger Hunt items. For a map and directions to Skylight One Hanson go here; the Flea is open from 10am to 6pm and is always free.

Michael Allen, the terrific bakery on Fulton at Grand Avenue, has been making phenomenal caneles for years. If you don’t make it to the flea to try Ben’s version or need a more frequent canele fix once you do try one, pay Michael a visit. Michael is also making a special treat from Brittany that is like a round chocolate croissant with an almost liquid center and a crisp, carmelized top. Can’t pronounce the name, but it’s ridiculously good!!!
at first blush i thought it was a filson mackinaw cruiser. sadly no.
