Coney Island was transported back in time this week as stars of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” took to the historic Riegelmann Boardwalk to film scenes for the show’s upcoming fourth season.

Set in the late 1950s and ’60s, the Amazon smash hit centers around Miriam “Midge” Maisel (played by Rachel Brosnahan) as her seemingly idyllic life is turned upside down to make way for a new love — stand-up comedy. Her passion — and talent — take her on a journey from her comfortable family life on the Upper West Side through the cafes and nightclubs of Greenwich Village, on a path she hopes will lead her to a life of fame.

The series, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino of “Gilmore Girls” fame, is largely set in New York City, and has become known for reimagining the Big Apple’s streetscapes to mirror those of its past.

While most of the interiors are filmed in the show’s Brooklyn studio, city staples like Washington Square Park, Old Town Bar and McSorley’s have made many a cameo in the award-winning comedy.

The Maisels have also spent some time in Prospect Park, but this week, the show’s stars reveled in the newly reopened Coney Island amusement district, filming along the boardwalk and in front of local landmarks like the Wonder Wheel.

Stands selling shaved ice and ice cream for 5 cents, parasol umbrellas and pay phones flooded the nearly century-old boardwalk as the cast and crew took Coney Island back in time.

Stars seen filming alongside Brosnahan Thursday included Caroline Aaron, who plays her on-screen mother-in-law, Shirley Maisel, and Michael Zegen, who plays Midge’s estranged husband, Joel. Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle, who play Midge’s parents on the show, were also spotted filming near Coney’s most exciting attractions. Alex Borstein, who plays fan-favorite Susie Myerson in the show, was also on set.

Filming on the peninsula began Wednesday, and continued through Friday, according to the crew.
