Members of the East 25th Street Historic District Initiative will be chatting with the New York Preservation Project as part of an oral history project to capture the stories of local advocacy.
Listen in as Brooklyn locals share how they pushed for the landmarking of their block. Members of the East 25th Street Historic District Initiative will be chatting with the New York Preservation Project (NYPAP) as part of an oral history project to capture the stories of local advocacy.
The new NYPAP series, “Inspired by Grassroots Stories: Community Architectural Advocacy,” features preservation consultant Kelly Carroll in conversation with the people and groups across the city who are working to document and preserve their communities. The East 25th Street Historic District in Flatbush was designated in November 2020 and for this edition in the series Carroll will be talking with community members Julia Charles, Hazel Deane and Phoebe Blake on how they were able to galvanize their efforts in the midst of a pandemic.
The free virtual program takes place on Tuesday, August 3 at 6:30 p.m. For more information and to register check out the event information online.
