In order for visitors to enjoy the peaceful oasis that is Green-Wood Cemetery, quite a bit of work goes into the upkeep of hundreds of acres of mausoleums and monuments.
Learn about the work that goes on behind-the-scenes with a virtual conversation between Neela Wickremesinghe, the Robert A. and Elizabeth Rohn Jeffe Director of Restoration and Preservation, and historian Jeff Richman. They will chat about some current projects, like the restoration of “The Prisoner’s Vault” mausoleum and how the small restoration team responds to storm damage and regular upkeep.
The talk, which is part of a Zooming in on History series, takes place on Wednesday, March 10 from 6 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $9 or $4 for Green-Wood Cemetery members. To register, visit the event page online.
