More musical chairs at the Greene Grape mini empire in Fort Greene! This time the cafe, the Greene Grape Annex, is moving to much bigger digs into the old space where Greene Grape Provisions (the grocery store) used to be. It will open Thursday, August 7, according to the Annex’s Instagram account and a sign on the window.
The new space at 753 Fulton, across from Cafe Habana, is so big, it sounds like the Annex will become more of a restaurant than a coffee shop, adding more seats as well as sandwiches and other dishes, beer and wine, according to Fort Greene Focus. Photos of the space show marble tables and midcentury wood and metal chairs and light fixtures.
In fact, last May DNAinfo reported Greene Grape intended to open a restaurant in this space, making use of supplies from its other stores, such as meat, cheese and wine. So, that leaves the old Annex space at No. 680 Fulton for yet another business. GMAP
