The city’s largest celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. continues into its 36th year with a day-long virtual and in-person gathering at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
The city’s largest celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. continues into its 36th year with a day-long virtual and in-person gathering at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Dr. Imani Perry will be the keynote speaker this year with other speeches by local civic leaders and activists and performances by singer Nona Hendryx with Craig Harris & Tailgaters Tales and Sing Harlem and a pre-recorded dance by choreographer Kyle Marshall.
Presented in collaboration with Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, the celebration takes place on Monday, January 17 starting at 10:30 a.m. at 30 Lafayette Avenue. In-person tickets are free but available on a first-come, first-served basis in the lobby starting at 8 a.m. For livestream access, an RSVP is required.
