It’s a taste of true Bed Stuy flavor. Crowds of people in festive attire packed into a few blocks to listen to music, hang out on stoops, and buy barbecue from neighbors and church groups at Spike Lee’s annual Michael Jackson block party Saturday.
Musician and actress Erykah Badu spoke about Aretha Franklin at this year’s event, now in its eighth year. The stage crowned the block of Stuyvesant Avenue between Lexington and Quincy, where Spike Lee filmed “Do the Right Thing.” The stretch was named “Do The Right Thing Way” in 2015.
