Nitehawk Cinema Preps to Open New Park Slope Location Soon
The theater chain has new signage on the marquee outside their new space, a landmarked building located in the former location of the Pavilion Theater.
Will Nitehawk’s new Park Slope location open before the end of the year?
The theater chain, which first opened in Williamsburg in 2011, has put up new signage on the marquee outside their new space, a landmarked building located at 188 Prospect Park West in Park Slope, the former location of the Pavilion Theater.
Nikehawk also recently posted four different job listings — two for servers, one for a runner/busser and another for line cook — which would imply an opening sooner rather than later.
A representative for Nitehawk said in an email that they are, in fact, getting closer to opening — but an official date has not been set. According to the New York State Liquor Authority, a liquor license for the building is still pending.
Nitehawk is known for serving cocktails and dinner during films. As the Pavilion, the theater had less than a stellar reputation over the years with incorrect movie times, bedbug rumors and theaters without heat. After it ceased operation in 2016, the owners proposed a condo conversion before Nitehawk Cinema took on the property.
The theater was originally supposed to open in early 2018 but has since been delayed. The first screening at the theater, which was set for November 12, was moved to the Williamsburg location a few weeks prior to the event.
