Wrap up Pride month by getting literary with two programs exploring Queer fiction and poetry at Brooklyn’s Center for Fiction.
On Wednesday, June 26 at 7 p.m. the Center is hosting “Pride in Verse: Spotlighting International LGBTQ Poets.” Poets Rigoberto González, Jaime Manrique, Raquel Salas Rivera, Brenda Shaughnessy and Yanyi will read from their work and chat about their perspectives on community, acceptance and queerness.
For a dip into classic LGBTQ fiction head to the Center the next night, Thursday, June 27 at 7 p.m. for “Pride: A Celebration of Classic & New Queer Fiction.” Authors Jean Kyoung Frazier, Andrea Lawlor, Paul Lisicky and Jordy Rosenberg will read classic selections as well as from their own work.
Both events take place at the Center for Fiction at 15 Lafayette Avenue in Fort Greene. Tickets are $10 for each event, but the ticket includes a $10 voucher towards a purchase in the bookstore. For the all of the details, visit their event calendar here.
