Ragamuffin Parade Bay Ridge 2015

The Ragamuffin Parade is returning in full force to Bay Ridge’s stretch of 3rd Avenue this Saturday.

The annual neighborhood celebration, the centerpiece of which is hundreds of kids in costume, began in 1967 and is now in its 49th year. The fun will begin at 1 p.m., rain or shine, marching from 76th Street to 92nd Street.

The youth-oriented parade rewards every child who registers with a free gift. Grand prizes of donated bicycles will be awarded for those with the most creative costumes.

The parade’s grand marshal and Person of the Year is Bay Ridge native and civic leader Mary Ann Walsh.
