Comb the well-preserved blocks of Stuyvesant Heights and pick up some knowledge of the architectural and social history of the neighborhood with a walking tour from the Municipal Art Society.

At one time a suburban retreat of villas, Stuyvesant Heights is filled with impressive townhouses and apartment buildings designed by some of Brooklyn’s most prolific and notable architects. Brownstoner columnist Suzanne Spellen and Morgan Munsey, both preservationists, will lead walkers on a survey of the neighborhood, including a look at commercial and civic buildings, houses of worship, impressive townhouses, and a park.

The Municipal Art Society tour takes place on Saturday, September 28 at 2 p.m., rain or shine. Tickets are $35 ($25 for members). For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
