BB’s recommendations were culled, in part, from comments on a bunch of different websites (including Brownstoner), and the list is still a work in progress (bring on the feedback). Some of the recommended businesses include: Bicycle Station in Prospect Heights for bike repairs, Vego for carpentry, John Hlad Plumbing and Heating for plumbing, and The Lamp Warehouse for lighting repairs. Check out the full list here.

Obviously, YOU CAN’T ignore me, Couch! HA HA!!

“I gotta side with BrooklynCouch, bicycle tireirons are plastic and have been plastic for the past 25+ years.”
Bike tire irons been metal for a whole lot longer than they have been plastic. Furthermore, there have been very expensive rims around for more than 25 years. It’s OK to use a metal tire iron on an expensive rim if you use it carefully. Complaining because a PLASTIC iron broke is just plain stupid.
I gotta side with BrooklynCouch, bicycle tireirons are plastic and have been plastic for the past 25+ years. And you don’t want to put metal against your nice Carbon Cosmic or Fulcrom Rims…duh…
I’ve never broken one of the plastic tire irons and I’ve gotten lots of flats in my day. I have lost them.
“12:28 PM, its obvious why you are anon.”
And it’s obvious that you got stuck for the cost of a PLASTIC tire iron. Really bright.

“What are you talking about? Tire irons have been plastic for, at least the last 20 years. You don’t want metal around a $300 wheel.”
I’m talking about your dumb move. You were the one who pointed out the tire iron was plastic, obviously a factor in its breaking. It’s called a tire IRON. IRON, as in metal.
