As the summer came to a close, the Furman Street facade at Toll Brothers’ Pierhouse residential development at Brooklyn Bridge Park began to reveal itself to the public. Now, at the height of fall, the construction scaffolding is coming down on the park-facing limestone and glass facade.
The 100-foot-tall, 106-unit residential project is spread over two buildings, 90 and 130 Furman Street, and has been designed by Marvel Architects. In counterpoint to the mostly solid Furman Street facade of metal panel and punched window that faces Brooklyn Heights, the west facade features limestone clad piers and large glass window walls with expansive views of the park.
Work also continues on the facade of the Pierhouse’s smaller residential building at 130 Furman Street. Window installation is ongoing, along with preparation for the metal panel facade. Sales for the condos launched last year.
A more glassy hotel, operated under the 1 Hotel brand by Starwood Capital Group, lies at the northern boundary of the site.
Construction is slated to wrap up by 2016, when the residences should be ready for move-in and the hotel will start taking guests.
