The modern-looking 13-story building at 225 4th Avenue in Park Slope is just about complete.

Next door to the Brooklyn Lyceum, a landmarked Beaux-Arts former public bath at 227 4th Avenue, the rust-colored building is set back with contrasting yellow brick.

Daniel Goldner is the architect of record. Offset windows of varied sizes give the facade a playful, dynamic look.

The firm specializes in designing commercial and industrial properties in New York City, and their project portfolio includes the 19-story rental building at 172 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights and Mark 324, a condo development in Prospect Heights.

There will be 63 units in the building. According to building permits, there will be 34 bicycle storage spaces, a health care center on the first floor and public space on the roof. Some of the apartments on the 10th and 11th floors will have private terraces.

Leasing has not begun on units in the building.

The building does not yet have its certificate occupancy, according to Department of Building records. Some scaffolding is still present.

Greystone Development purchased the property in 2015 for $13.5 million. They used to own the Brooklyn Lyceum next door, which they purchased at the same time for $7.6 million.

They were able to transfer about 20,000 square feet of development rights from the Lyceum to the formerly empty lot next door and build bigger there.

But in May, they sold the Lyceum for $10 million. The buyer appears to be developer Related Companies, who are known in Brooklyn are known for their past interest in a large plot of Williamsburg waterfront off North 10th Street.

The building will join a development-heavy stretch of 4th Avenue. Just south at 243 4th Avenue is a Karl Fischer-designed 11-story building, which is not far from DXA Studio’s cantilevered tower at 269 4th Avenue and ODA Architecture’s stepped 11-story condo building at 251 1st Street, developed by Adam America and Slate Property Group.
