I always agree w/Kopel! You have to pitch to the drain, so mosaics are great because you don’t have a straight, plumb and level substrate. If you’re using stone on the walls, a matching but honed finish “sunburst” is the prettiest.i.e. 4 pieces of slab cut into triangles with the largest sides at the 4 walls, and meeting at the drain. Anyhow, you’re installer will know what I mean
I like mosaic floors because of the high ratio of grout (which is inherently rough and non-slip) to tile – ceramic or glass. It also provides a nice scale and the appearance of a high degree of detail. Ed Kopel Architects, PC
