call Dally Slate in Pen Argyl, PA. It’s one of the last working slate quarries. I think there are other quarries in Vt as well.
I paid 1/4th what I would have to locally for 12 x 18 x 1 slate pavers. Dally’s price was less than $3 per sq ft. FOB their yard. You’ll have to send a truck or pay for shipping. Slate’s heavy though, shipping can cost as much as the materials. 420 square feet of the stuff was around 5000-6000 lbs.
