Our painters got paint all over our hard wood floors. Any tips for removing the paint?

  1. If you use denatured alcohol, be sure your floors are finished with oil based finish. i fear the alcohol will wreak havoc on a water base poly. For that matter, so will goof off.

  2. Old credit card works remarkable well. Wet swiffers work really well on fresh paint. Use the swiffer w/ out the mop, and alot of elbow grease.

For paint in cracks/grain of wood, try a sharpie that is close to the color of the floor to stain the paint a closer color. It’s amazing what will disappear when you are four feet away (standing).

  3. If they’re small paint drops you might try a plastic scraper. You could make a good one by cutting the rounded tip off a disposable plastic knife. If, OTOH, it’s something like the can of paint we kicked over on our middle parlor floor a couple of years ago, you might have a bigger problem.
