Hi,

I am about to enter into contract to purchase a Hoboken brownstone that needs total renovation. Recommendations for Contractors/Architects who can work in Hoboken would be much appreciated!

Thanks

  1. Hi Boss77,
I am a Client Representative for people engaged in construction and represent your interests. You might initially think, another consultant !? I wouldn’t blame you. What I do however is bring the costs down of your project, enhance and enforce better design, detailing, and construction, and reduce the time required to build your project. And most of the time pay for my services several times over. Sounds magical I’m sure but I assure you it can happen. I have been a licensed architect since 1991 and in construction since 2001. I know the challenges and incentives of all the parties involved and level the playing field between you and the construction team. My website is wyattmarley.com. While it looks like I engage in much larger projects, in truth half of my work is residential – I am still documenting the residential work. I’d be happy to discuss your project and whether it would be worthwhile to engage me. I am just now finishing a project in Edgewater and know well the NJ DOB ins and outs.

  2. I almost did a job in Hoboken a number of years ago. We got it all approved and permitted, passed landmarks, had the contractor all lined up and everything. Client decided to move to Vegas ans sell the house. Oh, well.

It was an interesting experience. The building department there is… unique?

The contractor we were going to use was Peter Brandli ((908) 400-6004). Great guy, has done some really nice work, lives in Hoboken.

There’s another guy I know who does great work as well, and is based out of Jersey City. Andreas Scholtz: (917) 538-2946. Call him, too.

And we’ve actually got a project manager in the office who lives in Hoboken as well. It’s always nice when the project manager can stop by the site just a few minutes away from his home. We’d be happy to speak with you about the project.
