Hello All,
I have a 2o’x25′ brick building with years of paint on it. I used peel away 1 and stripped a 4’x4′ section. The brick underneath looks great. Before I strip the rest I was wondering if anyone has had this done and/or can you provide a recommendation and ballpark cost. I would love to know before I invest several weeks of hard labor and then find out it could have been power washed clean by a pro in a day.
Also has any one had their bricks re-pointed? Again what is the cost I would be looking at?
Thanks in advance.
DIBS, with a brownstone, after it’s been powerwashed, doesn’t it have to be rebrownstoned? My brownstone facade, which has been painted, is in need of repair, but the estimates I’m getting for “brownstoning” are out of sight: $50,000. It’s not even a very fancy building. Is there some lesser route that one can take?
Although they didn’t use Peel Away specifically, the guys who did mine applied a stripper and let it sit for a few days and then powerwashed (brownstone, not brick). The issue with powerwashing brick is that if the mortar joints are bad, the powerwashing will remove it and you’ll have to repoint.
