I’ve searched the forums for an answer to this, and have not found one. I know that I need an LAA (limited alteration application) permit from the city before I can install a new gas line for a stove in my house. But what I don’t know is how long that should take. One guy gave me an estimate of 2 – 3 weeks, and another says 8 weeks. Has anyone filed for this and have an idea how long it takes these days?

i am so so so sorry that this topic got posted twice. moderator, if you’re out there, please delete this one. i apologize.
well it’s not an emergency one because it isn’t for heating, just gas for an oven. how do you know which “sometimes” you are dealing with?
Sometimes the LAA unit will allow you to get the permit while you wait but sometimes you will need to drop it off and then it may take exactly as the time efficiency of the city for these kind of things.
