We had to give up bath tub when we renovate. After 3 years later, I have to have bath tub back to my life. Have anyone installed bath tub to your shower room? Our shower room is tiled all over. Easily done? Please share your experience with me. thank you

  1. To some degree it sounds as if the 2″ drain line should be there.

However the geometry of where in a tub the drain is, as opposed to the more central location in a shower, means that the drain must sometimes be moved. if you have access from below, it is less of a problem.

I would say it could be a big job, demo’ing the tile job to reconfigure the space.

If your plumber can see from beneath that the drain trap can easily swing to the new location, it could be easy.

I woud retile the enclosure completely, I don’t think trying to match or meet the existing tile will perform in the long run.

  2. We are literally doing this right now. It’s not too much trouble at all.

The plumbing and the drain are already there, so it’s just a question of demo-ing the shower tile, putting in a tub that fits the space, and re-tiling.

    Good luck.
