Go down to Red Hook Marble (around the corner from IKEA)
Don't call, just go and see Luciano, the owner. He has a yard full of remnants, and he may give you "scraps", leftovers from when he computer cuts his slabs.
You can look in his dumpster in the back.
The mantle will fetch money. If the other parts actually fit back together into something resmbling the rest of the surround, they can be repaired by a marble guy- with epoxy and marble dust.
If not, they make nice garden accents. We found one of our marble 2ft under our garden in shards, and now those shards make nice footpath steps through our garden.
We’re ready to do the Carrara counters in our kitchen (yes I know all the cons) and I have comparable phone estimates from all three of these stone places. I’d love to hear from anyone who has had recent experiences with any of them. Also, can I have more than one of them come in…
I am looking for suggestions for someone who can cut off approx 4″x4″ from the sides of my 1″ thick marble mantel ledge so that the ledge is flush with the vertical sides of the surround. I am having bookshelving built and these pieces that jut out would interfere with the bookshelves. See the photo…
Any recommendations on a place that seems to specialize in granite that was either returned, on clearance, seconds etc? Doing a rental kitchen so am not so picky about colors or even slight imperfections for countertops. Thanks.
