I have some hold cast iron radiators, some with nice design, that have been tested and work well, but they need some TLC. I like to keep them the way they look now, rustic, and I don’t particularly like the Silver paint that I see on other radiators. There is any clear/transparent paint or something…
i think the janovic store in queens is a good place to go.

Painting Stone Window Lintel and SillI think the quick, short-lasting fix is to paint over it. maybe try gently spackling the cracked areas fist, allow to dry, and then paint.
Cracked Ceiling PaintI have found that the best way to finish a radiator is a dull clear powder coat. The powder-coating process uses no solvents, therefore when the heat comes on there is no smell. Also powder coating is a very tough finish. I have had several radiators and a couple of fireplace inserts sand-blasted and powder coated by Ever-nu (my neighbor) here on 20th street. The finished product was flawless, yet retained it's patina. Highly recommend. They have an ad in the directory: http://directory.brownstoner.com/ever-nu_metal/
