Cate _ thanks for your response, and private exchanges we had just after the website changeover. I appreciate the explanation of where to find a chronological list of news posts. I really hadn’t seen it before (at the bottom of the front page). Maybe you might want to pin a guide to the new website at the top of the page? I can’t believe that I am the only one having difficulty with it. I will note that the website commenting is still incompatible with Safari.

Putnamdenizen, thank you so much for explaining this. Actually, we are publishing the same number of stories every day as we ever did. If something isn’t in the top section, scroll down the page to the last section, where it says “more Brooklyn news” and you will see it there. If you want to see stories from prior days, you can just click on the button at the bottom of this section that says “Load more news” and you will see everything. You can also click on any category (in the menu bar at the top of the page) such as Real Estate or Brooklyn Life, etc., to see all the published stories in that category in reverse chronological order.

Cate: there appears to be much less content on front page. Right now (Saturday the 15th) there is the “Insider” design article from Thursday the 13th, an article on the LPC from the 12th, a deed theft article from the June 7th (!), and the Top 5 articles this week summary from today. This lack of new content is exacerbated by the inability to scroll back to prior content from previous days. Given that there is less new content posted each day and there doesn’t seem to be any easy way to get caught up on days we’ve “missed,” it just seems less valuable or engaging than before. I’d suggest: post more new content each day and give us a way to review the feed of recently posted articles. Thanks.

We had to redesign the site because our old WordPress design was no longer supported and our third party commenting system was out of business. We are still fixing bugs. I agree that the new site is fairly useless and I have pretty much given up on following topics and posting due to the terrible redesign. my guess is that it will wither away… it is not entirely the fault of brownstoner however… their former web host (disqus?) went out of business and they hired some crappy outfit to take over
