Heat pump permit

Starting the process to install heat pumps to replace gas hydroponic system. Permits are not part of the deal – this from 2 contractors. So any recommendations on that service?

I have my own architect who did a prior reno who can do it, but he said that the contractor may be able to recommend someone cheaper. The architect recommended by contract is not impressing me so far, bc he didn’t answer the main question which was how much?

So looking for another architect who can do this.

BTW any of you do this? and how much did the permit cost? My architect quoted me near the $7.5 K range for plans, tenant protection plan, equipment permit, LOC and expediting. Does not include asbestos test and TR! and TR8 inspections, which would be an estimated $3-$3.5K.

I have had other reno done, but the contractor pulled the permits and the actual price folded into the job.

You may be confusing building alteration permits (filed by an architect or engineer) with mechanical permits. What kind of permit do you need to install a heat pump? An equipment permit? A plumbing permit? An electrical permit? A crane permit for hoisting the condensers onto the roof? Licensed installers, plumbers, electricians, and equipment operators apply for these.
