Looking for apt

Hi I thought I’d give this a shot I’m currently garden apartment on Halsey Street I’ve been here for 17 years I have a Section 8 voucher I’m about to be 61 years old and I’m single I’m clean and quiet and I have to move my vouchers for one bedroom and they’re only considering this apartment I’m in as a studio because there’s no window in the middle room I’m trying to stay in the area if if anyone has a garden apartment for rent I’m an ideal tenant maybe someone could give me a chance because I really like to stay in the area thank you

Hi Susan I’m not sure of your situation but if you have three rooms (living room, middle room with no window, and kitchen) you can switch the uses of the rooms to turn it into a one-bedroom. For example, if you use the living room as your bedroom and use the middle room as the living room, then it would be a one-bedroom. On the other hand, if the apartment has only two rooms, and the only room with windows is a kitchen, then it is difficult to call it a one-bedroom since a bedroom must have windows. I would advise talking to a social worker and asking them to help you with your situation. They will know all the right things to do and they will make it easier for you. The Macon Library in Bed Stuy used to have a social worker available once a week. I would start by asking the librarian at the front desk or the reference desk if a social worker is available at the library, and if not, how can you get in touch with one to help you.
