At what must surely be the eleventh hour by now, the drydock that is slated to be paved over to make way for the IKEA parking lot is eliciting a new round of protest from the preservationally-minded. The Municipal Arts Society, in particular, is making a last-ditch effort to save what the New York Preservation Society has listed as one of its “Seven to Save” sites. With another Community Board 6 meeting now slated to address the issue, swords are drawn on both sides.
