Closing Bell: Flatbush Development Gala at Kings Theatre to Honor Marty Markowitz

Former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will be honored at the Flatbush Development Corporation’s 40th anniversary gala at the recently restored Kings Theatre Wednesday night. Markowitz is a founding member of the organization and was instrumental in the restoration of the theater, which the Flatbush Development Corporation helped save from the wrecking ball in the 1970s.

The event is a fundraiser for the community organization, and tickets are still available.

For 40 years, the Flatbush Development Corporation has worked to preserve affordable housing, landmark historic districts, provide youth programming, improve streetscapse and organize events like the Victorian Flatbush house tour.

A ticket to the after party event is $40. A ticket to the gala is $185. Tickets can be purchased and donations can be made here. The event begins at 6 pm on Wednesday, May 6.
