Flatbush Ave Street Fair

The Flatbush Avenue Street Fair will take over nearly a mile of the thoroughfare from Parkside Avenue to Cortelyou Road, in the heart of Flatbush. The event, put on by the Flatbush Avenue Business Improvement District, will feature carnival rides, games, live music, dancers, balloon art, face painting and plenty of food vendors.

There will be demo classes and performances of a wide variety of dances, including the hustle, cha cha, salsa, kizomba/afro house, mambo and line dancing. A magician will also perform.

And if you go, you can check out the 18th century Flatbush Dutch Reformed Church, pictured above at right, which will be right at the center of the action, at 890 Flatbush Avenue on the corner of Church.

The fair takes place on Sunday, June 14, from noon to 6 pm. Click here for more information.
