143 clifton place bed stuy 82014

Kudos to the owners of 143 Clifton Place in Bed Stuy for one of the more original and beautiful renovations we’ve seen in a while. The kicky kitchen with its shiny red lacquer cabinets and funky earth tone tile backsplash might not be to everyone’s taste, but we’re totally down with it.

We also like the serene and historic feel of the other rooms and the sophisticated interior paint colors. We were going to suggest a restoration of the wood-frame exterior might be in order, but the Perma Stone is growing on us — it kind of works with the kitchen.

The house appears to be Italianate, with two dormers windows on the top floor. It’s set up as an owner’s triplex over a garden-level studio rental. Our only regret is the two-room-deep floor plan doesn’t allow for a separate dining room in the owner’s unit.

What do you think of it and the ask of $1,795,000?
