Park Slope
Named for the upward sloping of the area’s streets toward Prospect Park, Park Slope is referred to by some locals as Park Stroller, for its abundance of young families. Also known for its landmarked brownstones, elite public schools and pricey real estate, Park Slope is home to a proliferation of churches, an armory, and two quaint commercial avenues. Formerly the site of one of the world’s deadliest aviation disasters, today the neighborhood is far better known for its high rents and safe streets.
