Bacon…beer…baseball…be there! After taking rookie-of-the-year honors in 2014, the second annual Bacon and Beer Classic returns to Citi Field on April 25. Part of a traveling show hosted at Major League stadiums across the country (when the home team is away, of course), this Flushing feast will feature bacon-infused products from about 50 local restaurants and suds from local breweries, along with interactive games, cooking demos, and music. More details and a photo demonstrating the beauty of beer are on the jump page.
Queens participants include Astoria’s Christos Steak House, Redwood Deli in Forest Hills, and the ubiquitous Bareburger. Plus, an all-star lineup of judges – including Lisa Fernandes, chef/owner of Sweet Chili and David “The Rev” Cancio, marketing director at Schweid & Sons—will sample the samples and determine which are the best.
Details: Bacon and Beer Classic, Citi Field, 123-01 Roosevelt Avenue, Flushing/Corona, Saturday, April 25th, brunch session from noon to 3 pm and evening session from 7 pm to 10 pm, $29 for designated drivers, $59 for general admission, $129 for VIP.
