The Times Ledger reports that Community Board 2 is considering forming a business improvement district (BID) in Woodside, to cover parts of Roosevelt Ave, Woodside Ave, and 61st Street. The board’s chairman, Joseph Conley, says “We think this would be a good step forward for Woodside”. He also said that CB2 is interested in bringing BID services like graffiti removal, street-sweeping, and advertising opportunities, services that businesses and residents have been asking for quite some time. However, only a few businesses have attended the meetings about the BID, so the board has to decide whether to create a full-featured BID or one under the Department of Small Business Services’ BID Express program; they are leaning toward an Express BID.
