An affordable housing lottery has opened for three units in an under-construction four-story building at 648 Midwood Street in Wingate.
Of the affordable apartments, there is a single one-bedroom and a pair of two-bedrooms. Monthly rents start at $2,241 and top out at $2,709.
The lottery is set at an area median income range of 130 percent. Eligible incomes range between $76,835 and $159,640 for households of one to five people.
There will be 10 units total in the building. Building permits show an outdoor recreation area on the ground floor. The lottery listing adds that there is a washer/dryer in each units and the building has a rooftop terrace. The listing also notes that tenants are responsible for the utilities, including hot water and heat. A two month concession is being offered on initial leases.
The site was formerly a two-story home, which has been demolished.
Yedidya Blau of Yedid Builders is listed as the owner on building permits. S. Wieder Architects is the firm behind the design, which has a mix of sky blue accents amid its brick facade. The firm also designed a co-living space under construction at 1190 Fulton Street in Bed Stuy.
