In a two-family brick house, this Bay Ridge rental offers wood floors, three bedrooms, a spacious kitchen, and in-unit laundry. The duplex unit is on the first and basement levels of 89 73rd Street, part of a row of charming Tudor Revival-style houses.

Plans for the stretch were filed in 1930 by Samuel Kushner, president of the Manner Building Corporation. Newspaper reports show the company was busy in the late 1920s and early 1930s building one- and two-family houses. Many of them, including this row, were designed by the prolific Cohn Brothers. No. 89 was still being advertised as available in the spring of 1931 with ads luring buyers with promises of “colored tile kitchens and baths,” cedar closets, finished basements, and garages.

This unit has gotten some tweaks since 1931, but wood floors remain in the living room and bedrooms. An old listing reveals that the dining room has been carved up in favor of adding a third bedroom.

In the kitchen are a generous number of cream colored cabinets. There is a dishwasher. The single full bathroom has white fixtures, including a soaking tub.

Laundry is located downstairs, with a full-sized washer and dryer, along with storage and room for a home office or lounge space. Listing photos show the space, which is below grade, according to PropertyShark, also has a separate entrance.

Jessica Quinn and James Fierro of Compass have the listing, and the no-fee rental is priced at $4,300 a month. Worth the ask?
