The entire second floor of a storied 1850s Brooklyn Heights manse is available to rent, and it looks like something out of a movie. The elegant digs at 3 Pierrepont Place include a sitting room with huge floor-to-ceiling windows leading out to two terraces overlooking the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, East River and Manhattan skyline. There are plenty of interesting nooks and vistas in the other rooms too, and a kitchen with a vintage industrial feel.
All of this does not come cheap, of course, but it appears the other similarly priced units in the semi-detached brownstone have recently rented. There are three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in this one, as well as high ceilings, mantels, wood floors and plasterwork. In the modern conveniences category are central air, in-unit laundry and use of a shared roof deck.

The building was the childhood home of Seth Low, mayor of Brooklyn and New York City and president of Columbia College. It was for sale for $40 million in 2015, when actor Matt Damon reportedly checked it out, but it appears to still be in the same hands.
The unit is available October 1, and Vicki V. Negron of Corcoran has the listing, which is asking $18,000 a month. What do you think?
