Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: Two Sold, Two Still Available
This week, a look back to the beginning of the summer to see how four of our listings fared on the market.
This week, a look back to the beginning of the summer to see how four of our listings fared on the market.
First, we have a seven-bedroom Prospect Park South standalone with double front porches that needs updating, but it’s got lots of space and lots of potential. A Colonial Revival built in 1909, it’s at 126 Stratford Road, in the Prospect Park South Historic District. This former House of the Day is currently on the market for $1.999 million, $251,000 less than the original asking price.
Following that, we have a Bed Stuy brownstone that’s newly renovated — and not by flippers. Some care and expense went into updating this one, a late 19th century Romanesque Revival that sits at 611 Macon Street, between Malcolm X Boulevard and Patchen Avenue. This former House of the Day sold in August for $1.8 million, just $50,000 under the asking price.
Next up, this two-bedroom Brooklyn Heights co-op that is well laid out, in good shape and offers a shared roof deck and a deeded parking space. It’s at 157 Hicks Street, between Pierrepont and Clark streets, on the third floor of a four-unit brick townhouse in the Brooklyn Heights Historic District. This former Co-op of the Day sold in November for the asking price of $1.45 million.
And, finally, a deluxe four-story brick townhouse on Butler Street in Cobble Hill. It’s a nice one, with some high-end upgrading alongside original details, including a working fireplace, moldings and tin and beamed ceilings. This former Open House Pick is currently on the market for $4.295 million, which is $100,000 less than the original asking price.
