Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: Three Sold, One Off the Market
Here’s a look at four of our featured listings from six months ago, located in Crown Heights, Cypress Hills, Greenpoint and Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
Here’s a look at how four of our featured listings from six months ago fared on the market.
Starting things off, we have a luxurious 1920 brick two-family in Crown Heights with a large footprint, a garage and some prime original details within, including vintage baths and kitchens. It occupies a corner spot at 279 Buffalo Avenue at Lincoln Place, in the Weeksville section on the neighborhood’s eastern end. This former House of the Day sold in June for $1.54 million, which was $160,000 below the asking price.
Next up, there’s an 1897 brownstone in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Historic District, with a renovated interior that combines modern updates with some nice original detail. It’s at 140 Rutland Road, on a prime block between Bedford and Rogers avenues. This former House of the Day sold in April for $2.35 million, which was $125,000 below the asking price.
Then, we have a circa-1900 Greenpoint three-story that doesn’t look like much from the front, with its drab aluminum-sided facade. But it’s got some nice original detail within, including crown moldings, tin ceilings and four decorative mantels. It’s at 78 North Henry Street, in the eastern part of the neighborhood, set between McGolrick Park and the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. This former House of the Day did not sell and is currently off the market.
Wrapping it up, there’s a semi-detached wood-frame Queen Anne with a front porch on Elton Street in Cypress Hills. It’s a three-story, 22 feet wide, with an upper duplex over a parlor-floor rental. The place needs considerable work, though there’s some original detail to be found, including crown moldings, window and door casings and the banister. This former Open House Pick sold in June for the asking price of $750,000.
