This weekend, our picks for open houses include a renovated Bed Stuy brownstone and a semi-detached Flatlands house with a garage. Found in Carroll Gardens, Bed Stuy, Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Flatlands they range in price from $769,000 to $2.2 million.

First up, is a two-family on Carroll Garden’s quirky Dennett Place with one of the tiny doors that is a hallmark of the street. A House of the Day in 2018 the stuccoed facade has since been painted white but the interior layout, with a one-bedroom rental over an owner’s duplex, hasn’t changed. It isn’t filled with original details, but it has a terrace off the parlor floor, a workable floor plan and is in move-in condition. It is priced at $2.2 million.

On Hancock Street in Bed Stuy, this brownstone had “all the latest novelties” when it was first constructed, claimed an 1890 ad for the sale of the newly constructed house. More recently, the three-family with an owner’s duplex below two apartments has been renovated to emulate the home of the owner’s grandparents according to the listing. This includes a kitchen with a vintage country vibe with a porcelain sink with drainboard, green beadboard cabinets and a white subway tile backsplash. It’s asking $1,999,995.

This single family in Prospect Lefferts Gardens is one of a row of “easy housekeeping houses” built in 1913 with brick facades and fanciful parapets. Inside are wall moldings, parquet floors, an original stair and a dining room with a beamed ceiling, plate shelf and built-ins with leaded glass doors. A remodel since it last sold in 2018 included a new mantel in the parlor, a renovated kitchen and a new half bath. The full bath upstairs has original wall tiles, including a swagged border tile, and a cast iron tub. It is priced at $1.75 million

Finally in Flatlands, the most modern of the bunch, a semi-detached brick dating to 1931 that includes a one-car garage. The interior of the single-family is chock full of original details including wall moldings, wood floors, a mantel and leaded glass windows. A full bath has a stained glass window and its original wall tile with black border tile, a tub niche and a built-in shower along with some later 20th century additions. The ask is $769,000.
