On what looks to be a steamy weekend, our picks for open houses include a brownstone in Bed Stuy and a detached Colonial Revival with a garage in Flatbush. Found in Bay Ridge, Bed Stuy and Flatbush, they range in price from $1.678 million to $2,899,900.
First up in Bay Ridge, this early 20th century Dutch Colonial Revival-style house boasts an in-ground, heated pool. The three-family house has a one-bedroom owner’s duplex with two rentals above. Some buyers might want to incorporate the bedroom space from one of the rentals into that owner’s unit. The parlor level has mantels, stained glass and wood floors along with a renovated kitchen and bath. The finished basement has laundry and a tiled rec room with a bar and another kitchen that has handy access to the pool in the backyard. It’s asking $2,899,900.
This circa 1890s brownstone on Jefferson Avenue in Bed Stuy is bursting with woodwork, including fretwork, mantels and pocket doors. While it was a House of the Day in 2007 it didn’t sell and hasn’t changed hands since the 1990s. It has a garden level apartment and, before the pandemic, the current owner used the upper two floors — one with a kitchenette and the other with a full kitchen — as a bed and breakfast, according to the listing. A renovation included exposed brick walls in many of the spaces and other updates include a new roof, electrical, plumbing and windows. It is priced at $2.2 million.

The duplex has some 19th century details including mantels and wood floors along with a renovated kitchen. The asking price is $1.888 million.
Finally, in the micro Flatbush nabe of Midwood Park and within the Fiske Terrace-Midwood Park Historic District, this circa 1906 Colonial Revival by architect Benjamin Driesler comes with a garage. The generously sized single family hasn’t been on the market since the 1970s. While most of the floors are covered with wall-to-wall carpeting there’s likely some hardwood floors underneath. There is a relatively open plan first floor with large living and dining rooms. The kitchen is just one of the wallpaper adorned rooms. It is priced at $1.678 million.
