Luxuriate in John Krasinski and Emily Blunt's Lavish Park Slope Limestone for $8 Million

Here’s a Park Slope limestone on a park block that’s flat-out gorgeous, packed with details and spruced up by a high-end architectural renovation. Oh, and the sellers are Hollywood stars — John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, as reported by the Wall Street Journal and subsequently many another outlet.
The A-list pair picked up the house — a 1909 French Renaissance limestone at 586 4th Street, in the Park Slope Historic District — in December of 2015 and hired Michael Ingui of Baxt Ingui Architects to do the renovation. But they’re cashing out in short order, because, Krasinski told the Journal, they spend little time there and “the house is so special — someone who can spend every night there should have it.”
A fair point, John. The house is a looker, with space to burn — some 5,200 square feet, spread over four floors.
And it’s loaded with original detail in peak condition, including mantels, a pier mirror, stained glass windows, built-in leaded-glass cabinets, wood paneling, crown moldings, pocket doors and inlaid floors.

The layout offers a triple parlor and up to seven bedrooms, though the third floor is currently configured as a master suite, with a skylit marble bath, a walk-in closet, a study with a gas fireplace, and a terrace.
There’s a renovated kitchen with floor-to-ceiling glass, a skylight and a Wolf range; a backyard with bluestone pavers and a cedar fence; a garden-level family room with exposed ceiling beams; a laundry room; “state of the art mechanicals”; radiant heated floors; and motorized shades in the kitchen.
This one’s been a house of the day twice before, in 2008, when it wanted $3 million (it went for $2.275 million), and again in 2013, when it was asking $4.75 million.
Krasinski and Blunt picked it up for $6 million, and are now asking for $8 million; Corcoran brokers Karen Talbott and Kyle Talbott have the listing. Does it look like $8 million worth of house?
