Another week, another look back to see how four of our featured listings from six months ago fared on the market.
First, a landmarked Park Slope manse, on a park block at 596 2nd Street, that has some stunning original detail and a ton of space. (It’s also on the same block where Barack Obama lived after he graduated from Columbia.) One of a row of 26 eclectic houses designed by the prolific Brooklyn architect Benjamin Driesler, it was built in 1903. This former House of the Day sold in November for $3.25 million, which is $750,000 below the initial asking price.
Next, there’s a barrel-fronted one-family townhouse that’s flush with original details. It’s at 67 Rutland Road in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Historic District, a few blocks from the Prospect Park subway station and close to Prospect Park itself. This former House of the Day is still available for $2 million, which is $100,000 below the initial asking price.
Following that, a two-bedroom co-op that is bright, smartly laid out and well located. It’s at 147 South Oxford Street, on the second floor of a five-story, 20-unit prewar elevator building in Fort Greene. This former Co-op of the Day sold in November for $790,000, which was $9,000 below the original asking price.
And to wrap it up, we’re out in Bay Ridge, on 82nd Street between 3rd and 4th avenues. It’s a brick one-family with three bedrooms, two baths and a finished basement. The listing calls it “well-maintained,” and it looks it, though it’s ready for some updating, including possibly a new kitchen. This former Open House Pick sold in December for $972,500, which was $105,500 below the initial asking price.
