This week, we’re looking back six months and checking in on four of our featured listings from the fall.
This week, we’re looking back six months and checking in on four of our featured listings from the fall.
First up is a stunner of a brownstone, a renovated four-story Italianate on Washington Avenue in Clinton Hill that beautifully blends graceful original detail and modern updating. The latter includes a minimalist Henrybuilt kitchen. In the “graceful original detail” department, there are parquet floors, lovely marble mantels, crown moldings, arched door frames, pocket shutters, and a mahogany newel post. This former House of the Day sold in October for $3.85 million, $500,000 above ask.
Next, this seven-bedroom Edwardian standalone at 2201 Glenwood Road in South Midwood needs work, but it offers a ton of space and some choice original details, and looks like it could polish up into something quite nice. This former House of the Day is still available for $1.26 million with another broker, a price drop of $39,000.
A Prospect Heights one-bedroom delivers plenty of early 20th century charm, with its fetching original wooden door and window frames, its gorgeous mirrored mantel and its classic black-and-white tiled bathroom, with Art Deco-era tub. It’s on the first floor of a 10-unit Renaissance Revival-style building at 207 Park Place, designed by Thomas Bennett for developer Louis Bonert in 1901. This former Co-op of the Day sold in January for $630,000, $15,000 above ask.
In Windsor Terrace, we’ve got a semi-detached corner brick house dating back to 1915 that’s showing for the first time. This one’s not a flip, but looks to be in perfect move-in condition. A one-family with three bedrooms, it’s got light from three exposures, nice parquet floors throughout, a front yard with a porch and a nice bay-windowed living room. There’s also an English basement with a heated garage, storage space, a rec room, a half-bath and a laundry room. This Open House Pick sold in March for $1.307 million, $12,000 above ask.
