This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Park Slope, Bed Stuy and Clinton Hill. How did they fare?
First, a four-story, single-family brick and limestone beauty in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Historic District. It is “in need of a total renovation,” according to the listing, and has some visible wear and tear but also an abundance of rich, original details. This former House of the Day sold in December for $2.1 million, which was $150,000 below the asking price.
Then we have this cute one-bedroom co-op in the Park Slope Historic District that’s compact and appealing, with multiple exposures and some original details. Located at 915 President Street, the unit is on the fourth floor of a building that dates back to 1890 and is just under a block from Prospect Park. This former Co-op of the Day is currently off the market.
After that, there’s a uniquely configured home in the Stuyvesant Heights Historic District, across the street from Fulton Park. Located at 63 Chauncey Street, the pale stone three-story was completed in 1901 and received a boho-chic renovation in the 1970s complete with double-height sections and a catwalk. This former House of the Day is still on the market for $1.699 million, which is $201,000 below the initial asking price.
Last up, a four-story renovated Italianate townhouse in Clinton Hill that’s currently configured as an upper triplex over a two-bedroom garden-level rental. It appears that most original details — except for two decorative fourth-floor mantels — have been stripped from all but the parlor level, which boasts intricate crown moldings as well as two additional mantels, one in the rear kitchen. This former Open House Pick sold in January for $3.64 million, which was $160,000 below the asking price.
