Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: Two Sold, One in Contract, One Off the Market
This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from July, including homes in Park Slope, Bay Ridge and Bed Stuy.
Here’s a look at how four of our featured listings from six months ago fared on the market.
We start with this Stuy Heights brownstone that has been beautifully renovated, with modern updating alongside original details and a choice owner’s triplex. It’s on a nice block, as well, at 731 Putnam Avenue, where with its angled front and L-shaped stoop it bookends a row of brownstones on the north side of the street. This former House of the Day was taken off the market in December.
Next up, a two-story, semi-detached brick house in Flatbush that ought to make a worthy restoration project for someone not afraid to get their hands dirty (or pay someone else to do it). It’s at 2318 Newkirk Avenue, between Flatbush Avenue and East 23rd Street. This former House of the Day sold in December for $950,000, which was $95,000 less than the asking price.
After that, a two-bedroom co-op that sits at the top of an 1898 manse designed by Montrose Morris that offers a view of Prospect Park that must be pretty sweet. It’s at 19 Prospect Park West, off Carroll Street, a bit removed from the hubbub of Grand Army Plaza but close enough for an easy walk to the subway, farmer’s market and main library. This former Co-op of the Day sold in October for $1.14 million, which was $55,000 over the asking price.
Finally, a limestone row house in Bay Ridge with a barrel front that has been in the same family for a long time and “meticulously maintained,” according to the listing. This one’s got quite a bit of original detail, including a tiled entrance foyer, wainscoting, parquet floors, and a coffered ceiling and leaded glass china cabinets in the dining room. This former Open House Pick changed brokers and entered contract in November.
