Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: All Four Sold
Here’s a look at four of our featured listings from six months ago.

Here’s a look at how four of our featured listings from six months ago fared on the market.
Starting us off, we have a barrel-fronted Renaissance Revival brownstone in Crown Heights, built by Axel Hedman circa 1899, that needs reconfiguring, polishing and some updating. But it’s rich in original detail and could be quite a looker. It’s at 1003 Sterling Place in the Crown Heights North II Historic District, near Brower Park and the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. This former House of the Day sold in December for $1.6 million, which was $150,000 less than the asking price.
Staying in Crown Heights, there’s a limestone with an angled front that’s been in the same family for generations, according to the listing, and retains some choice original detail. It’s at 697 Saint Johns Place, off Bedford Avenue, and near the Franklin Avenue commercial strip. This former House of the Day sold in December for $1.7 million, which was $50,000 less than the asking price.
Following that, we have a duplex condo that occupies the upper floors of a landmarked Park Slope brownstone, with some nice details, four bedrooms and a terrace. It’s one of two duplex units at 781 Carroll Street, which could make financing tricky, on a prime Center Slope block not far from Prospect Park. This former Condo of the Day sold in March for $2.175 million, which was $175,000 above the asking price.
Last stop is Windsor Terrace, where we find a vinyl-sided row house on Vanderbilt Street. It’s a two-story one-family, with a straightforward layout: three bedrooms plus an office above, living room/dining room/kitchen below. There’s a large lawn in the back, with a big tree and a distinctive — or should we say inexplicable? — row of globe-topped brick posts. This former Open House Pick sold in sold in March for $1.3 million, which was $195,000 less than the asking price.
