This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Marine Park, Clinton Hill and Park Slope. How did they fare?
In addition to the intact vintage details, this 1931 Marine Park Tudor offers a garage and a location just a short stroll from the neighborhood’s eponymous park. While a new owner might want to make some mechanical and style upgrades, the single-family offers three bedrooms, two full baths and a basement with a second kitchen and rec room. This former House of the Day sold for the asking price of $865,000 in April.
For about the price of a townhouse, here’s a 19th century Clinton Hill apartment up to modern snuff that doesn’t stint on convenience, comfort or historic details. Built in 1897, it’s been modernized with an open kitchen, arches and some fun bathroom tile, but the woodwork and floors remain — as does the large, gracious footprint. With three bedrooms, this former Co-op of the Day sold in May for $2.25 million, which was $350,000 over the asking price.
In the Clinton Hill Historic District, this Italianate is in estate condition, but certainly has potential for an owner with the vision and funds to tackle the project. While there are only a handful of pictures of the interior, they are enough to show that much of the impressive detail on the high-ceilinged grand parlor level remains, including the arched double doors leading into the front parlor, where there is a gilded pier mirror, an ornate marble mantel and plasterwork. This former House of the Day sold in June for $4.028 million, which was $528,000 over the asking price.
In the Park Slope Historic District, an 1890s two-family of pale yellow brick and limestone hasn’t changed hands in decades. Set up as an owner’s triplex over a garden rental, it’s got a kitchen on the parlor floor, oodles of varnished woodwork in seemingly excellent condition, fretwork, wainscoting, a pier mirror and seven mantels. This former Open House Pick sold in May for $5.3 million, which was $50,000 over the asking price.
