This week, our look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago encompasses homes in Kensington, Clinton Hill, Midwood and Carroll Gardens. How did they fare?

Our first one this week is on the architecturally scenic Clinton Avenue, a condo in an 1870s brownstone that offers up some attractive details like high ceilings and mantels as well as the bonus of private outdoor space and in-unit laundry. This upper floor unit has a living room and open kitchen at the front and bedroom and en suite bath at the rear. Pocket doors separate a second bedroom, or home office, from the living room, and there’s a power room near the entrance. There are wood floors throughout and both the living room and bedroom have decorative fireplaces with overmantel mirrors and original tile. A former Condo of the Day, it sold in April for $1.701 million, which was $506,000 above the initial asking price of $1.995 million.

Next up, in Kensington, an early 20th century semi-detached brick house has an appealing front porch and a garage with a shared driveway. The interior of the single-family has a few period touches like wood floors and the staircase, but the first floor was renovated with an open-plan living room and kitchen with a large peninsula separating the two. There are two bedrooms that could be used for work-from-home space on the first floor and three more bedrooms and another study above. There are two full baths, one with a bright yellow tile wall. This former Open House Pick sold in May for $1.96 million, which was $35,000 below the asking price.

In South Midwood, a detached Tudor holds a few surprises on the interior and comes complete with coveted off-street parking. While the fair bit of brown wall-to-wall carpeting might not be everyone’s idea of a pleasant interior surprise, the late 1920s single-family in South Midwood also has a Tudor Revival-style strapwork ceiling and woodwork in the living room. The wood floors elsewhere also suggest there might be more original floors to be found underneath the current shaggy coverings. The first floor holds the large living room with the aforementioned ceiling as well as a fireplace with a Tudor arch set into a wall of wood paneling. There is also a formal dining room with a built-in corner cupboard and, off the kitchen, there’s an office (likely a former maid’s room) and full bath. Upstairs are three bedrooms, all with carpeted floors, along with two full baths. One of the bedrooms has an original mantel with brick surround while the largest bedroom has a bay window and shares a Jack and Jill bathroom with the third bedroom. In the same family since at least the 1980s, this former House of the Day sold in June for $1.775 million, which was $225,000 below the asking price.

Wrapping things up this week is a single-family home on Carroll Gardens’ Dennett Place, where homes don’t pop up for sale all that frequently. This one hasn’t changed hands in about 20 years and while a new owner might want to make some upgrades it appears to be in move-in-ready condition. For a better view, you can take a look at the virtual tour of the house, which even allows an up-close view of the tiny door entrance. You can also get a look through the windows at the elevated tracks directly behind the house. The parlor level has a living room, with a glass door leading out to the terrace, while two bedrooms and a full bath can be found on the floor above. Kitchen and dining along with a laundry room, full bath and a bedroom with a skylight are on the garden level. There’s baseboard heating throughout the house. This former House of the Day entered contract in March.
