This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Ditmas Park, South Midwood, Flatbush and Clinton Hill. How did they fare?
If the postwar exterior and ceiling heights aren’t deal breakers, this Ditmas Park co-op unit offers some fun design, two true bedrooms and a not-insane asking price in a desirable part of Brooklyn. On the fourth floor, the apartment is white and modern, with fun pops of color and wood floors. This former Co-op of the Day sold in February for $780,000, which was $11,000 over the asking price.
This 1914 South Midwood Colonial Revival-style brick row house has a mantel, original stair and hardwood floors but is in need of renovation. The single-family has a practical layout, with living, dining and kitchen on first floor, and bedrooms and one full bath above. Some period elements include a coffered ceiling and stained glass in the dining room, moldings, and parquet floors with inlaid borders in some rooms. This former Open House Pick sold in March for $990,407, which was $91,407 over the asking price.
There’s no denying the curb appeal or the interior charm of this Colonial Revival-style row house in Flatbush. In addition to the plentiful original woodwork on the interior there is a renovated vintage-style kitchen with a distinct style statement. Part of the same development as the 1914 Colonial Revival above, but across the street, this former House of the Day with photogenic interiors went into contract after only four days on the market. The sale was finalized in January for $1.25 million, which was $55,000 over the asking price.
This Anglo-Italianate in Clinton Hill is not for the faint of heart. While there are some marble mantels and moldings to be seen, much of the interior of the 14-foot-wide row house on Cambridge Place looks like a renovation job interrupted. While narrow, the house benefits from an adjacent garden that is being sold together with the house, although the two are priced separately. This former House of the Day and the adjacent lot sold in January for $2.324 million, which was $174,000 under the asking price.
